The static model is a recreation of the Thunderbolt P-47 aircraft, which was the first single-seat fighter to have a supercharger, allowing the P-47 to fly at the same altitude as the bombers. This enabled the P-47 to escort and defend the bombers using the eight 12.7mm machine guns attached. Due to the also attached drop tank, it was possible for the P-47 fighters to overcome these distances.
